FAQ : How to configure Model Alignment (placement modes) in WorkLink Create
There are 3 placement (alignment) modes available within the WorkLink App. These are the Object, Image and Surface Placement modes.
By default, the Image and Surface Placement modes are available for all projects. However, you can configure your project to use the Object Placement Mode (+Surface Placement Mode) only or the Surface Placement mode only.
Configure Placement Modes
Object Tracker
- This mode allows you to align directly on a specific object. You must set up object tracking in your project to use this placement mode on the App. See: Configuration and Best Practices for Object Tracking.
Image Tracker
- This mode allows you to align your model on a specific target image. You can confirm placement once alignment is successful. See: Configuring Image Tracker.
Surface Tracker
- This mode allows you to align on a surface, with or without any target image. You can tap the device screen to place object once alignment is successful.
Note: If you are looking to enforce the Surface Placement mode only, make sure you select "Surface Tracker" as the AR Tracker type for your project, and remember to enable "Default Markerless Tracker" as shown below:
