WorkLink: Serverless Remote Assistance calls (without an active internet connection)
The Remote Assistance platform allows a technician to connect with an expert with or without an internet connection.
Without the internet, a technician can connect with an expert via connection to an Offline Router. This WorkLink capability is known as Serverless Calling.
Requirements for Serverless Calling
Both users (i.e. Tech and Expert) must:
- Log in to the WorkLink App (with an active internet connection) before connecting to the offline router.
- Be users within the same company.
- Use devices that are connected to the same router. A stronger router may be needed to connect two devices in larger areas or in areas where there is significant wifi interference.
- With the addition of a WorkLink Author or Viewer License, users can view side-loaded Work Instructions on serverless calling.
How to sideload Work Instructions on multiple platforms
The procedure for side-loading Work instructions vary across platforms, follow steps specific to your device platform.
Note: Make sure you have the .scope file for the Work Instruction you wish to view through Serverless Calling. This can be obtained by Offline Publishing or by downloading the .scope file of an already published project from the Scope AR CMS.
